Bill will be presenting an overview and introduction to the Java Media and Communication APIs and then go into a more technical focus on the Java Media Framework.

Bill Day is a software engineer at Silicon Graphics Computer Systems. He worked on SGI's Cosmo Code Java IDE, created a test suite for the Cosmo Motion Java Media Framework implementation, and is currently the lead engineer on a SGI Java-based client-server project. Bill is a columnist for JavaWorld magazine and is authoring a book on Java Media for O'Reilly and Associates. Bill's byline has also appeared in a SunWorld feature article. When Bill is not writing or programming, he loves to travel with his wife, speak French, and enjoy life. Java, c'est magnifique!

From SJ airport:
Take Guadalupe Parkway North (Left) to Highway 101 travel north toward SF (approx 10 miles). In Mountain View, exit at Shoreline Blvd/Middlefield road. Take the first exit (Shoreline Blvd). Building 20 is directly across from US 101 interchange.
Travel South on Highway 101 towards San Jose (approximately 24 miles). In Mt. View, exit at Shoreline Blvd. North. Cross over the freeway (through light). Building 20 is directly across from US 101 interchange (towards east).
SGI provides a variety of maps to their campus, including a rather detailed one.
